Why, Why, Whycocomagh Again

Yes, it did rain overnight. We departed early to get to the ferry as we had to be in line by 9:45, two hours before sailing. We took just enough time for coffee and showers before leaving Barachois Pond. 

The showers were just about the most disappointing of the trip, aside from the no water at La Scie. They were pretty grubby and the water temperature ranged from cold to tepid. But we got the sweaty bodies cleaned after a sticky humid night. It was a bit of a letdown after the nice site we had yesterday.. 

It continued to rain for the two hour drive to the ferry and was still gray, damp and foggy when we left Newfoundland. About halfway across the Cabot Strait the fog lifted and it became sunny and warm by the time the ship docked in North Sydney. 

We had considered going north fron Sydney to the Cape Breton National Park for a few days, but it looks like the sunny skies are a tease as the forecast is more rain tonight and for the rest of the week. We decided it was time to throw in the very wet towel and turned south. The weather on the Maine Coast looks much more promising this week.

The ferry got in around 6:30pm amd it was only about an hour to Whycocomagh Provincial Park, so here we are again.

I have no idea how far we will get tomorrow…in the rain.
