Day 27 - To Home

A Very Short Entry For The Last Leg

After a quiet night on the waterfront we were up early. Nothing was open, so it was coffee and breakfast in Speedy before we were off to Route 3 to Augusta where where we hooked up with the Maine Turnpike. Except for the usual detour to I-295 from Gardiner to Portland, it was I-95 all the way to US 1 in Danvers, then to the Mystic River Bridge onto the Zakim Bridge and the heavy traffic through the tunnels to the SE Expressway to Quincy, RT-3A and home in time for lunch and a hot afternoon of emptying Speedy and testing that the air conditioner still worked.

The trip was quicker than we thought it would be as the Quebec-Trans-Labrador section took a lot less time that we thought (and was hurried along by the weather, black flies and mosquitos). The loss of the AC shroud was the impetus for not spending any time in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick.

27 days and a bit over 4700 miles averaging 16.2 miles/gal.
