Too Tired To Go Far
After a virtually non-existent night's sleep aboard the ferry Highlanders, we arrived at North Sydney, Nova Scotia. While they had reclining seats available, they seemed to think leaving the lights on all night and turning down the temperature was prudent. Even with eye masks, not much sleep was had by the time we docked at 7 am.
The first stop was Tim Horton's for enough coffee to get us up the road to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. After one more ferry, the cable-guided Englishtown ferry across St. Ann's Bay, we were on the Cabot Trail and soon into the park. Our destination was the Broad Cove campground. We arrived well before check-in time with no reservations, but were able to get a nice open site for the day and overnight. We were beat.
We are concerned about the air conditioner being exposed, particularly in the rain. Sure enough. it rained most of the day. We didn't mind being stuck in Speedy in the rain as we were very tired. Fortunately, there has been no leakage into the van through the AC, but the motor is exposed now.
