Tomorrow we should get to Arizona, but probably not all the way to Tucson.
It was a tough slog into the sun this afternoon. It seems much brighter in the west and the day was clear but windy for the entire drive. The speed limits in Texas and New Mexico are 75 mph on I-40 and with many trucks it was interesting driving. At one point we were behind a tractor trailer and it signaled to exit into a rest stop. As it started to leave the highway, the driver changed his mind and swerved back onto the Interstate in front of us. At this point he was doing about 45 and we were still moving at 70. I fortunately had the room to stomp on the brakes, but it woke Ellen up from her nap.
The highlight of the day was dawn over Lake Eufala and the White Pelicans floating by in front of our campsite. Having a long hot shower wasn’t bad either.
