We have been wondering what has been scratching under the trailer at night and what has been pushing open the panel to the under-trailer crawl space. I looked under there the other morning, but saw nothing.
So...I borrowed a trail camera and set it outside the closed panel. I wanted to see when whatever it was came or went before I blocked up the panel with cinder blocks.
As we were sitting down to dinner, Ellen noticed the faint smell of skunk. I looked outside and sure enough, the panel was pushed aside. No skunk was to be seen, so I retrieved the camera.
Yup, it is a big skunk. The camera caught it squeezing through a small hole at the bottom of the panel where the Air Conditioning tubing goes through. It then caught it pushing the panel off when it came out.
I've closed the panel and blocked off the hole and panel with bricks and set the camera back out. We'll see if it worked in the morning.
We are off until Sunday and went into Tucson yesterday for our first all-day shopping trip. In addition to week's food (Trader Joe's, Fry's and Sprouts) we also stopped at Home Depot, Target, and Walmart for various bits and pieces for the van and Speedy. Today was cleaning and fixing things.
