A Cold Rainy Day
The summer seems to have abandoned us today. It was barely 40°F at sunrise today and it was raining. It continued to rain all day, not getting above 45°. The local radar showed that while we were getting rain in the valley, it was snowing on both sides. I suspect that if we hiked up to the Lake Agnes Teahouse today, it would be in the snow...but there wouldn't be any crowds.
This gave us a chance to catch up with the Speedy Journal postings and select some photos to upload in the morning. After lunch, we drove over to the village to the visitor center, hoping to use their Internet access to upload the photos. That was not to be. The VC was filled with campers with laptops, tablets and phones, all with the same idea as us. Uploading was at old-fashioned dial-up speeds, unable to cope with photos. We broke down and used our phone service bandwidth to upload the photos.
It was then over to the shops again for another stroll around, an afternoon coffee stop and to the market for milk. Then back to the campsite in the rain. We have been using the propane furnace today more than ever before.
It will be dinner inside tonight with Harry and Sally joining us in Speedy.
Tomorrow we will be off again, north to the Columbia Icefield and possibly on to Jasper.
