The trip was to go to the Carolinas, with several days at Buck Hall, then some of Georgia to Lake Seminole for a a few day with our farthest stay at Gulf Islands National Seashore. On the way back, we are hoping to go to the Outer Banks, Assateague and Cape May, following the early migration.
We had a harried start as the freezer compartment in Speedy’s refrigerator started sagging in the back, making it impossible to close the door if there was any food in the freezer. It took about an hour of hacking to come up with a fix using some aluminum angle stock…the advantage of having lots of bits and pieces from old projects in the root cellar.
With the delay in starting out, we had to cancel at three campgrounds on the way and are traveling directly to Georgia as quickly as possible. We made it to the Cracker Barrel in Stevensville, MD today. Drove from 9am to 7pm…I’m getting too old for the long drives.
More later.
