"Speedy" is on the way -- Canada 2010 - Day 0

We finally have it all together to take the motorcycles to Nova Scotia, towing them in the new cargo trailer behind "Speedy" Roadtrek. Our trim 19' van has become a 32' RV. We now have the length of a Class A.

With a leisurely start, we headed north, stopping at Max BMW in New Hampshire to pick up a new helmet for Ellen.

Speedy's handling and acceleration were a bit sluggish with an extra 2000 lbs. of trailer and motorcycles added, but we continued on to Maine and a stop at LL Bean in Freeport. It seems that we can't pass by without stopping. Fortunately, they have an RV parking area that we pulled our 32' articulated beast into.

It probably wasn't the best plan to drive to Canada via Route 1, but trundled onward--at least there was no backup at Wisscasset. We got as far as Rockland, where we "camped out" in the Walmart parking lot with three other RVs.
