Day 3 - A Day At Godbout

Today was just a day of recovery at the Godbout Municipal Campground. We slept late (all the way to 6 am). Took two bird walks along the beach.

I unsuccessfully tried digi-scoping again with the big Kowa scope and its bespoke adapter on the Sony 6300. I continue to have a difficult time holding it still even on the tripod and getting the focus right. The scope is brilliant and sharp when looking through it by eye, but I'm just not good enough to make it perform with the camera.

This was by far the best of my efforts:

But most were more like this:

We were surprised by the weather. It had been forecast as possible rain, but turned out to be a dry day and even had a bit of sun in the afternoon. It did start raining at about dinnertime, but seems to have tapered off.

Tomorrow is another story. The forecast is definite rain all day. We had planned to head up QC 389 tomorrow, but will probably put it off if we can get another night here. I'd prefer to not meet a twisty hilly gravel road in the rain.

I did another Starlink test this afternoon; setting it outside in the proper orientation and managed 279 Mb/sec download speeds. That is better than 5X our line at home.

More tomorrow.
