Short hike and errands
Just Ellen and I Walked up to the Horseshoe pond trail and around the pond.
A triple terraced beaver pond. three dams, beaver lodge, but no beaver to be seen.
Lots of downed trees for a very busy beaver, some as large a 8" diameter.
Finished early as the trail is very popular and the crowds were coming in as we were going out.
Time for a bit more shopping, or at least an attempt to do so in the food desert that is around Denali Park. I hope we have enough on board to last a week because there wasn't much to choose from and it was all very pricey.
Back to the park to dump our tanks and fill with fresh water, then showers and laundry. Things that are just in the background at home are an extra effort here.
When we got back to camp, I unloaded Speedy's cargo box in an effort to again remove the tilt it has developed. The 25 cent piece we used as a shim had gotten flattened by all the pounding as we've driven. I found a hard steel washer among my spares that we were able to wedge in. It seems to have done the trick.
After dinner we got everything packed and put away in anticiption for our move to Teklanika campground tommorow.
