No Better News Today

The Dodge dealer called this morning to say that the brake line hadn't arrived yet, but  they still expected it today. Supposedly it is coming from Detroit, an OEM part.

At about 3:30 PM he called again to tell me that it had arrived and Speedy was up on the lift. That was the extent of the good news. In addition to the main brake line to the rear wheels (the part they ordered), both rear brake cylinders, the differential brake lines and the hoses were suspect. The differential brake line is another OEM part and has to come from Detroit. By the way, the extra work will be another $500. He did say it would be shipped overnight.

Did I mention that a blizzard is just starting and we expect about 10" of snow overnight? Our friends, Tom & Jean, came by to help us shift the trailer to the front of the house, so that it isn't buried by snow in the back.

We are now down to 11 days before we are due at Aransas and if we don't leave before the weekend there may be another storm system on top of our route. I expect it will take us at least five days to get there at Speedy's trailering speed.

If we do this again next year, maybe we should start in November.
