A New Adventure

 It has been a long time between journal entries—Speedy is off on a new adventure tomorrow!

We will be taking it to Canada once again, but to a new destination the Îles de la Madeleine (also called the Magdalen Islands). They are five hours by ferry , north of PEI.

We plan to travel through Maine to Campobello Island, then take two ferries to New Brunswick and on to Fundy National Park. From there we will go up to the Northumberland Straits and over to Prince Edward Island for a few days. On the 10th, we have a ferry reservation to the Îles de la Madeleine.

We have campground reservations for six nights and expect to do a lot of birding and walking.

Now to the exciting part—at the moment, we have no reservation to return. The ferry is fully booked until mid-September, but the ferry company assures me that there is usually a space or two for standby each day, so we may have a long boondock at the ferry terminal.

If  we get back to  PEI quickly, we will return via Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Maine, but that hasn't been planned yet.
