Not Much Today

Thursday, February 16, 2017

It was yet another hot and sticky night, but at least there was some wind in the morning when we got up.

Since it was the last day of my 3-day salt-water fishing license, I figured I'd at least give it a try. I rode my bike over to the shore in the tent camping area. There was a rather stiff on-shore breeze, so it felt good, even if I couldn't get the short Tenkara line out far enough that there might be a fish. It was fun to give it a try again, even if unsuccessful.

While I was off playing fisherman, Ellen was off doing her morning birding, but stopped by at the shore to check on my progress or lack of progress to be precise.

We all then went off to the visitor center to sit out on the upper deck in the breeze and upload Speedy Journal entries, eBird submissions, check mail and make phone calls. I wandered down to the bulkhead on the water to try to give the Tenkara rod another try, but was turned back by the swarms of mozzies. The mosquito meter was still at Hysterical!

We spent most of the day in either the screen tent or in Speedy.
