We take another walk, visit the Interpretive Center and eat.
It was our last day at Skidaway Island. Time to look for more birds. After a lazy start, we were joined by Harry & Sally (and Nina) for a walk along the Sandpiper Nature Trail and Avian Way Loop, two miles of trails through the marsh and along the river. Ellen and Sally were still looking for the Clapper Rail (and they still failed to find one). We did see a good range of birds along the river and a few in the marsh, so it was still a good walk. Nina enjoyed it. Actually, Skidaway is a pretty dog-friendly park, as she was allowed on the trails, something not allowed in many of the parks we've visited.
After the trail walk, Ellen and I stopped by the Interpretive Center to sit by the bird feeders and see the small birds and to look inside at the exhibits of stuffed birds and live reptiles...also the giant sloth fossil skeleton.
It was a lazy day after that, another dinner by the fire and a quiet finish to our stay at Skidaway Island State park and Savannah.
