Not really much to say today. We left Glacier NP this morning heading to Yellowstone as our next park destination. Today's goal was to get close to Bozeman, MT, so that we could go in town tomorrow, Monday, to get the two bicycle wheels repaired (see Glacier - Day 12).
We took the scenic route down US 89 all the way to Livingston. It was a beautiful ride, especially through the Jefferson Unit of the Lewis and Clark National Forest. The road swept from curve to curve through the forest. It would have been a great motorcycle ride and we did see lots of bikes out enjoying the Sunday. We had the advantage of Miles Davis on the speakers, perfect mellow music for the cruise through the forest.
Once we got to the plains beyond the forest, the wind came up very strongly and it was a crosswind. Speedy doesn't really like crosswinds all that much and we were a little wobbly going down the road. It was as bad as it was for the bikes coming the other way. They were definitely riding with a list as they went straight ahead.
After running into a short rainstorm, the winds quieted down.
We decided to find a campground with amenities so we could do laundry, charge various devices, catch up on email, and update the Speedy Journal and photos. We ended up at the Bear Canyon Campground just outside of Bozeman. It was a bit of a frenetic entry, as they close the laundry at 8 PM and we arrived at 7 PM.
We managed to get the laundry done in time, have a microwaved curry and rice dinner and watch a pretty nice sunset.
